- Hi! My name is Lesley Purcell and this blog will showcase the mixed media artwork and jewellery I produce that are influenced by wild things. My pieces always contain animals or birds or insects or plants... any flora and fauna that I feel inspired by when I sit down at my work desk. I am heavily influenced by fairytales, myths and legends, so a particular story I read may influence a whole set of work. I also love old botanical and zoological drawings and illustrations, though I can't claim the same level of minute detail in my work that you would find in an old, scientific text book.
